Sports Photography, 4 sports in 26 Hours

This weekend I found myself at a soccer game, a football game, a cross country meet and a basketball game.  Serving two different newspapers, traveling to four different locations and editing 3,000 images all between 2pm Friday, November 8th, 2013, and Saturday, November 9th at 4pm.

Sports photography requires a knowledge of the rhythms and rules that make each sport different.  It was a great challenge shifting from one event to the next and meeting deadlines for The Star-Ledger, for which I covered a NJSIAA tournament soccer game in Rumson, NJ, and the NJSIAA cross country sectional championships at Thompson Park in Jamesburg, NJ, and for The Asbury Park Press for which I covered a football game in Middletown, NJ, and a basketball game at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ.

Here you’ll find a sample of images from those four events.
